Ottawa Ice win silver in highest division of 107-team Nepean Ringette tournament

The silver medal-winning Ottawa Ice Belle ‘AA’ team earned the top result out of local entries in the premiere divisions of the 2016 Nepean Ringette Tournament, finishing just a goal away from gold with a 6-5 overtime defeat to New Brunswick in the U19 ‘AA’ championship game.

Barça academy kicks off at Louis-Riel Dome

Gloucester wins men’s Ontario Cup, Cumberland shines at ER Cup finals

The Gloucester Celtic won their second senior men’s Ontario Cup in 4 years on Sept. 10 in Vaughan. The 2013 national champs knocked off the two-time defending provincial/national champs from London in their semi-final, then held off Caledon 1-0 on the strength of Alex Decouvreur’s goal just before halftime.

Gillian Cross and Hayley Watt of the Ottawa Rowing Club were the junior women’s pair Canadian champions, while clubmates Luke Gadsdon and Hunter Amesbury brought home the bronze medal in the under-23 men’s pair event from the Sept. 22-25 National Rowing Championships in Burnaby Lake, B.C.

Nepean lacrosse leads large local crew crowned Canadian champs
