Local hockey products shine for U18 Team Canada

Ottawa’s William Bitten helped the national men’s under-18 hockey team to its 8th-straight gold medal at the summertime Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup in Czech Republic, while Ottawa Senators Provincial Women’s Hockey League forwards Anonda Hoppner and Tasza Tarnowski helped the Canadian U18 women to a 2-1 exhibition series victory over USA in Lake Placid, NY.

Nearing the midway mark of the Ontario Player Development League season, there is a whole of Ottawa at the top of the under-14 east division standings. The 6-2-1 Ottawa South United Force and West Ottawa Warriors are tied for first in boys’ play, while the 3rd-place OSU girls are 6-2-2 with West Ottawa next at 5-4-1.
