Gee-Gees season ends with playoff loss to Windsor

The last time the Gee-Gees football team and the Windsor Lancers met, on October 15, uOttawa won 32-30 on a last-second field goal. On October 29, at Frank Clair Stadium, the two teams faced off against each other again at the OUA quarterfinals. This time around, uOttawa was not so fortunate as they lost by a score of 50-33.

Gee-Gees win thriller on last-second field goal

On a cold, windy October afternoon, the Gee-Gees men’s football team played its final home game of the regular season against the Windsor Lancers. After falling behind 14-0 early in the game, the resilient Gee-Gees ultimately prevailed by a score of 32-30, on a last-second game-winning field goal by fourth-year kicker Matt Falvo (Welland, Ont.).

Christine Wiggins and Sarah Wallace Top Emerging Rider Standings

Christine Wiggins of Ottawa, ON, emerged as the Eastern Division winner while Sarah Wallace of Calgary, AB, topped the standings in the Western Division of the 2011 Jump Canada Emerging Rider Series, Presented by Bayer Legend.

At the 2011 uOttawa homecoming football game, the Gee-Gees defeated the University of Toronto Varsity Blues in convincing fashion, 41-0, on September 24 at Frank Clair Stadium. Toronto was the only team to beat the Gee-Gees in the regular season last year.

Gee-Gees women’s rugby travelling to McGill

The Gee-Gees will trek up to Montreal this weekend to take on McGill for their second match of the season Sunday at 1 p.m. The Gee-Gees will look to build on their 56-5 season opening win over Bishop’s last weekend.

Gee-Gees football travel to Western in rematch of 2010 Yates Cup

The Gee-Gees have entered the CIS Top Ten after a 19-6 victory over Queen’s in uOttawa’s home opener. This week, the nationally ninth-ranked Gee-Gees will travel to London, Ont., to take on the second-ranked Western Mustangs Saturday at 1 p.m.
