Field lacrosse is only in its fifth year of operation as an official NCSSAA sport, but the national capital high school sports association will play host to the OFSAA provincial festival for the second time in that span.

Tykes claim piece of Nepean lacrosse history

The tyke aged Nepean Knights are provincial champions for the first time in the association’s history, having won the “B” level crown at provincials in Durham Region. Nepean has won provincial titles before, but never at the tyke level. Tyke players are 7 and 8 years old.

Nepean won the Tyke B/C and Novice B/C category at the 16th annual Nepean Knights lacrosse tournament in mid-July. The host club also earned second-place showings in the Bantam B/C and C/D divisions, as well as the Intermediate category.
