In front of an Earl Armstrong Arena crowd, the Ottawa Axemen took one game from the Kahnawake Mohawks in their Quebec Senior Lacrosse League championship series, but wound up dropping the best-of-5 series 3-1 to the winners of seven consecutive league crowns.

In just their second season of existence, the Ottawa Axemen are leading the way in the Quebec Senior Lacrosse League with an 11-1 record. 24-year-old Tim Bergin, a former Gloucester Griffin, is the runaway scoring leader for Ottawa and in the league with 24 goals and 40 assists in 10 games.
