Ontario Cup win, 3 OYSL playoff defeats for local soccer sides

They made history last year when they became the first team from Eastern Ontario to win Ontario Youth Soccer League and Quebec-Ontario Cup titles, and this year the Ottawa South United Force under-15 boys’ soccer team completed their collection of provincial trophies with an Ontario Cup triumph on Sept. 20 in Vaughan.

Nearing the midway mark of the Ontario Player Development League season, there is a whole of Ottawa at the top of the under-14 east division standings. The 6-2-1 Ottawa South United Force and West Ottawa Warriors are tied for first in boys’ play, while the 3rd-place OSU girls are 6-2-2 with West Ottawa next at 5-4-1.
