Local divers spring to the podium at Spring Provincials

Henry McKay of the Nepean-Ottawa Diving Club swept all three of his events in the Group A (age 16-18) to lead a big medal haul for local athletes at the March 3-6 Dive Ontario Spring Provincials in Toronto.

2 local divers win Jr. Pan Am medals

It was a dazzling debut on the international scene for Kathryn Grant and a fourth medal in three appearances for Henry McKay as the local divers both brought back bronze from the Oct. 8-11 Pan American Junior Diving Championships in Cuba.

Canadian swimmers came up with a handsome medal haul at the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games – finishing five behind USA with 27 in total for 2nd overall – and while Ottawa’s Erika Seltenreich-Hodgson certainly enjoyed the experience, she also wishes she could have contributed a bit more to the count.

Bittersweet silver squash player’s 3rd medal of Pan Ams

Sam Cornett earned her third medal of the Pan Am Games on Friday night at Exhibition Place with a silver in the women’s team event, but after winning singles bronze and doubles silver earlier, the 24-year-old veteran of the Canadian women’s squash team was disappointed to not complete her collection.
