For the Franco-Cité Faucons, it wasn’t so much about winning a second consecutive national capital title last week, it was all about earning a return trip to the OFSAA ‘AA’ boys’ volleyball championships Nov. 23-26 in Stratford.

The Glebe Gryphons senior boys’ volleyball was more than pleased to keep their streak of city championships alive last week by capturing their sixth in a row, but they’ve also got some more hardware in mind as they attend the OFSAA ‘AAAA’ championships Nov. 23-26 in Hamilton.

Ottawa’s Bruno Lortie finished off his summer vacation in style by winning a silver medal in the men’s 18-and-under division at the Canadian beach volleyball championships at the end of August at Ashbridges Bay in Toronto.

The Ottawa Fusion 18-and-under boys lived true to their name as the players from the city’s two powerhouse clubs combined to form one team at the top youth level, producing an Ontario Volleyball Association championships bronze medal win two weekends ago in Kitchener-Waterloo.
