National Capital Wrestling Club lands $20,000 Trillium grant

Prior to the start of their Jan. 11 festival, MPP John Fraser will officially hand over a $20,000 grant to the National Capital Wrestling Club from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to help the club purchase mats, offer coaching and referee certification courses and establish two new satellite programs in the Ottawa region to provide more opportunities for its growing membership.

Wiebe takes 7th in wrestling worlds debut

Two Ottawa wrestlers recently competed at world championships – Augusta Eve of the National Capital Wrestling Club placed fifth in the 40 kg division at the cadet worlds, while Western Mustang and NCWC grad Ilya Abelev placed 11th at the junior worlds.
