OSU Force player Adrian Dagres is en route to Barcelona, Spain to represent Team Canada at the Danone Nations Cup, the world’s biggest football tournament for children aged 10 to 12.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to showcase my talent,” Adrian said in a recent interview with Global News in Kingston, his hometown. “I’m so proud to have made it.”

Adrian has wowed his new club by traveling four days a week for practices and games.

“It’s worth it,” Adrian signalled. “I was looking for some better competition and coaching so I joined Ottawa South. My coaches and my teammates have been nothing but supportive.”

“He’s a humble and committed kid,” added OSU Coach Simon Wilshaw, impressed by Adrian’s ability to play multiple positions. “He loves the game so much. He’s a bright young player with a hunger for the game. We’re thrilled to have him on our team.”

Adrian will be joining OSU’s Luca Domanico, Isaac Charboneau and Anna Swyers at the Danone Nations Cup in Barcelona.

League1 women a fast Force in debut campaign

Clarissa Larisey

The OSU Force women have blasted to the top of table in their debut season of play in League1 Ontario, recording 3 victories in 3 tries over Aurora (2-1), North Mississauga (13-0) and Alliance United (4-1).

Four-time Ontario Youth Soccer League scoring champion Clarissa Larisey has re-assumed her place atop the goal scorers’ table since rejoining her youth club. The University of Memphis Tigers player scored 3 hat tricks (yes, you read that right – NINE goals!) in her lone appearance against North Mississauga.

The young OSU Force men’s side has lost its 3 contests against opponents currently near the top of the League1 standings, but will look to get on the point board come a 5 p.m. home contest against FC London on May 25 at Quinn’s Point.

The women meet London earlier that same day at 1:30 p.m.
